So I decided it would be a good idea to make a little floral arrangement to place on my table for the big Thanksgiving feast this year, (which by the way I am attempting to cook, help us all).
On my first attempt, I actually followed directions on how to "create a shape" -- I was aiming for taller in the back. I carefully selected roses and calla lilies in rusts and oranges, with a touch of yellow. Green onion grass for filler of course. Sounds like it just might work...
Needless to say, it came out horribly wrong. I will spare you the horrendous photo. I don't really know what happened. It could've been once I was done, you could see all of three green floral foam, or that it actually came out quite symmetrical (looks weird in a flower arrangement if you ask me), or it could be the fact that it resembled a funeral design. Not the look I was going for on my Thanksgiving table. I have never been too good at following directions of any kind...
Plus, my poor guests already have to suffer through my cooking -- I am trying hard not to creep them out any further...
After looking over my sad arrangement again; I pulled out all of the flowers, flipped the foam, and decided just to wing it. I figure, hey, can't be any worse...
The result?! Check it out -- it's a little different, but I was pleasantly surprised:

flower arrangement yellow roses
thanksgiving autumn table foam
design rust calla lily orange fall
